       @angristan Not with a loss rate of exactly 0% and a stddev of 25% of your min. delay. The distance could explain the min. delay (which is not harmful), not the jitter (which is!). FYI from my home to a server located 9400 km away: 264 ms +- 0.8 ms (stddev 0.3% of the min. delay), connections perfectly stable & fine.Since this is very unlikely that the congestion is occurring at the backbone level, it should occur either at your side or at the remote side (cf. mtr).

       @bortzmeyer @tangeek @aeris @fatalerrors Bon alors pour rajouter (tardivement) mon grain de sel concernant cette planche :- je n'aime pas le terme de "modèle TCP/IP", je préfère celui de "modèle en couches IP" (IP étant ici le dénominateur commun, TCP est juste un protocole de transport parmi d'autre) ;- je le décris en 5 couches (séparation entre les couches physique et liaison, illustrée par exemple par l'implémentation d'Ethernet sur différents média) ;

       @bortzmeyer @tangeek @aeris @fatalerrors - comme rappelé par Stéphane, le modèle en couches OSI est mort et enterré, je ne le mentionne que contraint et forcé, *aucun* des protocoles applicatifs mentionnés ici n'est conforme avec le modèle OSI (parmi les protocoles les plus utilisés de nos jours, seul LDAP est conforme à ce modèle en tant que protocole d'accès X.500) ; si je représente le modèle OSI, c'est uniquement en tant que concurrent ayant échoué à s'imposer face au modèle IP.

       @bortzmeyer @tangeek @aeris @fatalerrors Absolument : pour moi ces modèles sont purement illustratifs et à prendre avec un certain recul.Mon plan pour rendre fou un ingénieur réseau conditionné par les formations d'un certain vendeur d'équipements réseau : lui faire décrire une session SIP encapsulée dans un VPN IPsec selon le modèle OSI. 😄

       @artemis Firmware updates to fix this issue have been published by Dell and HPE two years ago but must be applied *before* the SSDs reach 40,000 hrs uptime otherwise both the data and the SSD itself will be rendered unusable
