@7 @onan yeah I dont think and (I kind of hope we dont) have swarms of Amazon delivery drones. But I think we’ll see some eVTOL stuff like what Pipistrel is trying to do with their Nuuva aircraft that can deliver cargo on fixed flight routes to more rural or off the grid locations.

@7 @onan Having the wings for convential flight definitely helps with the range. I feel like its kind of the wild west right now with all the different aircraft designs for both smaller UAS systems and larger aircraft. It will be interesting to see what wins out in the end.

@7 one guy from my lab in college was doing stuff with the navy and their wave pool. He was testing a drone with a tether connected to a ship. Its kinda funny how much just off the shelf stuff people use for these experiments.

@7 AI is a pretty big safety issue. This safety engineer thats been mentoring me was telling me that they want to use it for aircraft. Like it could determine aircraft routes etc. but its kind of a black box so he was saying you need to put a “cage” around it so no matter what the AI does it will be forced to produce ‘safe’ outputs. Idk the cage analogy was kinda funny.

@has I dont really know enough to make a super informed opinion. Like the Redacted video shows him in a very positive light but I’m sure hes killed people and done some shady shit. At the same time though I think US media is overly villainizing him. Like at the end of the day living Haiti sucks and you just got do what you got to do to survive.
