I've recently started used the "no boost" filter on my Home feed. It's so much gentler! It is working a lot better than using keyword specific filters #Mastodon

Architects: How important is it to know structure in your design practice? They've ripped the guts out of our architecture degree, it's now more important to choose materials based on narrative and aesthetics than performance. When I was younger, I thought I’d be dead by 40 and lived my life accordingly. I am getting to the point where I am financially unable to continue my PhD. Or, costs of living have increased so much that I need to do more paid work to survive and I don’t have time to do my research/writing. For example, my rent has gone up 36% since I started in December 2020. Just applied for a job. Feeling sad about it. #PhDLife #AcademicChatter #PhDChat
