@mo I love this too! Use it all the time to create flat colours. Then I put the vector layers in groups and inherit their alpha on the lighting and texture layers.

Don't sleep on #Kdenlive This video editor is going to be to the #Linux & #FOSS world as Final Cut is to Mac and Premiere Pro to Windows.It will be what Blender is to 3D, Krita to art, and Godot to game dev.I own DaVinci Resolve Studio and I still use Kdenlive wherever I can because the user experience is so much better.It's only roadblock atm is performance, and thanks to the recent fundraiser that's being addressed.Take a look at the latest feature additions:https://kdenlive.org/en/2022/12/kdenlive-22-12-released/

@mo Select the vector layer the shape is on, then select the shape itself with the tool that looks like a white arrow. Cut the shape. Select the second vector layer and paste the shape. It will retain the same position.

I'm now on 99.9% #FOSS for professional creative work in the web industry and I absolutely love it.I use #Krita for all general image editing and creation, plus the #KDE app Spectacle for image capture.When I need vectors I use #Inkscape. If I need to prototype a UI I use #PenPot. For making videos to embed in webpages I use #Kdenlive, editing recordings captured with Simple Screen Recorder.All on an #EndeavourOS system.Clients see no difference at all on their end, everyone's happy.

@actuallyautistic Homo sapiens are a hybrid species with DNA from at least 3 hominid ancestors. (Pre-hybrid homo sapien, neanderthal, denisovan). A 4th ancestor was just discovered. I suspect there are many more.I think it feasible these ancestors are the origin of genetic variance involved with neurodiversity.And I suspect social differences between allistic and autistic people correlate with DNA inherited from large vs small social group size adapted hominid ancestors.#ActuallyAutistic

Holy shit #kdenlive has gotten good!I got to use it today on a work project, making a video for all the vertical video platforms. The multiple sequences is an absolute game changer.That plus all the other tools like color clips, gradients, transforms & crops, keyframing, corner tool and so on meant I didn't need to turn to Resolve, let alone (horror) Adobe for a relatively complex project.This is getting closer and closer to replacing proprietary for everything I need.#FOSS #OpenSource

@pathfinder @actuallyautistic Absolutely!I also think it could be related to how intense all input is for us. There is no such thing as a small change when the volume of everything is at 20. All unexpected changes are loud and disruptive. So we seek to minimise that disruption as much as we can.
