@smallsees @rysiek Yeah, the newest article reads as more of a "Oh, well I guess I was wrong, but it still has some issues" vibe.Which tbf is spot on.I love Masto since I moved last month (via various servers), but it does have issues still. Hopefully which will be worked out in time, especially now given the influx of users.

@stux What I find amazing about the entire issue is this:So many gun advocates stand on the principal that guns are necessary to protect themselves and their loved ones from bad actors.Yet nearly all shooters are killed by police, never one of these valiant "defenders of the 2nd amendment".Odd that.That and none of them admit that if guns were illegal, there'd be no need for guns for self-defence, because no-one would have guns.Odd that too.

@stux This!There's a certain, large instance out there that must feel like its users are all precious snowflakes that can't handle the real world, and so bans entire instances based off of the behaviour of a single user on an instance.They then dictate that other instances HAVE to do the same, like they're the authority on what's acceptable online.Er, no?How about let individual users use the instance blocks we all have access to, and stop nannying & dictating to others?

@CliffWade I use Vivaldi primarily, with Firefox as a backup.Even though I despise the Mozilla team's design decisions with Proton and general shitty attitude towards general complaints about it.

It feels like, to me, that social media has become an issue to those in power. So we've been seeing a large effort by "them" to do what they can to destroy the ability of social media to democratise power in the truest sense.Twitter turned into a shitshow.Reddit did the same.Facebook's always been shit.Tiktok has been branded "a Chinese spy app"Telegram's encryption & privacy (along with Signal & WhatsApp) are being attacked by right wing govts daily.Just seems sus 🤷Thank god for Masto

@Stomata @essjax @Niall @Vivaldi @librewolf Except for one small issue - no android version. I sync bookmarks etc between desktop and mobile. No mobile version is a dealbreaker for me.

@elena I tried installing Mastodon on my Yunohost VPS over the weekend, but ran into issues with Yunohost's installation script for Mastodon.So I was thinking about GoToSocial instead.Also: Following your guide on getting Yunohost installed on the VPS was invaluable! Everything is installed and working and that's all thanks to your guide, great work! :)
