pernia is brazillian, not asian, he will not get the same reaction like he does with other people of asian ethnicity.In this video he is doing exactly what he wants to, he's just being himself in front of people he doesn't know.He is very aware that the girl is not comfortable. It's obvious from his "Hey, what's up? " when he turns to her. The fact that he's putting her at ease (if only for a moment) makes it that much easier for the viewer to sympathise with her.It's also interesting that he never even tries to hide the fact that he's bisexual.
