@Wy7usa By contrast, our IT dept had been SAVAGED by a ransomware attack earlier this year. Completely took the entire plant network down. Yes, for real. Took over 1 month to salvage "clean"/not-infected files from network drives, copy to C: (or*gasp* Cloud storage/Sharepoint locations). PC-MFG equip literally stopped, until local drive enabled, workers standing around doing nothing for +1month. Ransom$ plus lost$ is epic.

@Jagahati @mhjohnson @Wy7usa I complain about AB too. But there's pro's and con's not being like everyone else. Our PLC systems don't need much intervention, so offline they are. We use PC's to control processes (IO, DAQ, I&C) and that's the weak point. The ransomware "hack" basically offline'd all PC-run equipment. Cleaned C: off network, , ran isolated for many weeks like that. Just like 1996 again!

@Evillarry Perfect! The company (green tech, 20's and 30s) will never accept no wifi, BT, etc. Culturally unacceptable now. FWIW I previously worked for NNL (gov, no connectivity 'outside the razor wire fence') and even that community (IT, etc) is getting weak, soft. Pro's/con's. I'm not IT, just Electronics I&C test lab rig builder guy, ~27yrs. Grouchy old tech guy like JCD LOL. Once your wire leaves the bldg,,,it's public..

@Evillarry Worked in a place just like that for about 3yrs. Don't miss it. In civilian life now. Back at a "green tech" gig I did many years ago. Gov loonies or green energy loonies, not much choice left for engineering types here in Upstate NY LOL!

@MountainJay @someGuyNick Typical Bell curve, the highly edu, and the poorly, are most gullible. But also being "liberal" = gullible. There is a virtue signaling element to it. The opposite of Liberal: common sense! There are plenty of 'common sense' folk here (Upstate NY), but like CA we're outnumbered. Common-Sense folk stuck in a blue state, have more awareness than those in red states.

@someGuyNick Fauci, et al, said vaxx: prevents infection, prevents transmission, reduces hospitalization. Yet the only ones still "testing positive" are the fully vaxx'd and boosted. @someGuyNick Adam mentioned H2 in NA1619..one of the few times I get to actually listen live! He's right, in that developing H2 can boost an economy...because it takes a lot of fossil fuel to develop it LOL. Lots of industrial work, plus the electronic stuff...we are actual BOTG producers.

5.130 Mhz playing Trump speeches. Only been listening the last couple days (a few days off is good for the soul!) but these seem to be recent. Kinda weak signal into Upstate NY, usually WBCQ stronger, but it is on their freq. Wondering if anyone else hears the signal stronger?

@Fox Very low in the noise at my QTH (Upstate NY). WBCQ (ME) usually comes in clear, but maybe they are just rolling this loop on low pwr. But it's definitely a loop. Lots of interesting stuff still on shortwave, things are not dead.

@adam Would like to learn more also. Was really big into 'packet' radio back in the 80s/90s. Pre-internet of course. Could connect to nodes and PBBS's all over the country actually. Lately been back into HF. Renewed interest in SW, WBCQ for example. Also, CB is amazingly active (sunspots) and can be very interesting. 73 de KB2HPW
