She's home from work, and the entire house smells of Ethyl Mercaptan. There's a gas leak, something that scares the shit out of her. Her heart's thumping too hard in her chest, and she's panicking. She opens all the doors and window, yet it's suffocating. She turns off the gas cylinder. It takes time, but eventually, the smell vanishes. By then, she's regretting not lighting up a cigarette earlier, before she opened the doors and turned off the cylinder.

The next minute, she felt the floor beneath her shudder. She held a wall, and felt the vibrations, and she was convinced that it was an earthquake, something she's scared of since a kid. It was just a metro passing by.

Someone rings the bell. She opens the door to find her cook. She asks her to be careful while turning on the gas as there was a gas leak earlier. Her cook laughs at her, and tells her that it's all in her head. She knows for a fact that there was a gas leak, but people don't believe her. They never did. They still don't. Perhaps they never will. She wonders if her fears are irrational. Or does her brain works more than it should?

Meanwhile, her stomach hurts. Cramps, again. She was diagnosed with IBS and a fatty liver, but despite her having completed the course, the symptoms haven't subsided. She googles her symptoms again, for a millionth time. She's convinced she has colo rectal cancer. Else the pain and other symptoms would have subsided by now, right? She realizes that she's going to die, and she's panicking again. But isn't that what she really wanted? Wasn't she trying to slit her wrist just last night?

Her cook informs her that she's made daal and chawal for her. She asks why she hasn't made any curry, and the cook tells her that her cylinder is empty. HOLY SHIT! "Do you believe me now that there was a gas leak?" She asks, just like a prosecutor who has gotten his hands on a new piece of evidence. "Yes, I do. It happened only because you constantly think about it." Her cook said. Like, everything that happened to her was her fault.

I think, some of us are wired differently, so much so that we intentionally try to think about things that make us unhappy, and sulk. And when we're at it, we would readily cancel plans, refuse to meet people and stay indoors and ensure that we feel every bit of the pain. Not so much of a Sunday morning toot. Sorry, fellas.

She sat on her bed, wrapped in her blanket, with her laptop on her lap. After all, a keyboard is mightier than the sword.

@DinkaChica crying is so relieving, no? I don't know why people don't get it.

@DinkaChica Of course, I don't like to cry in front of others either. However, as a kid, I often cried anywhere and everywhere, and was often bullied for the same.

@DinkaChica Well, they told me boys don't cry. I believed them as a kid, and thought there was something wrong with me. I grew up to realize that evrything was wrong with them.

@DinkaChica That's so true. Most humans are disappointing. Insensitive fudges.
