@timkmak I suspect that Ukraine's priority may be to strategically cut Russia's supply lines to Crimea, which would have enormous military and political consequences. I am sure that any re-occupation by the Russians in the east will only be temporary, made much shorter by strategic victories in Crimea and the west.

The GOP, as currently constituted, is indeed a threat to democracy.But getting rid of it would only create a one-party state, which definitely would not be democracy, either.What price are you willing to pay to preserve democracy? Getting rid of BOTH the Democrat AND Republican parties? Or at least to split each of them into two?
