The last time I saw The Trial by Orson Welles it was on VHS; the teenage me probably taped a late-night TV broadcast of a cropped, substandard print. I saw it again last night. Wow. Every frame is a work of art, not least due to cinematographer Edmond Richard. Here's a short 🧵of frames.#cinema

I own the original cinema poster for the Grman release (which of course uses Kafka's original title). Maybe it's time I got this one framed.

Increasingly, I don't know any of the celebs on celeb contest TV shows. When I look them up, I'm none the wiser: 'Jamareen is an online influencer known for their work in the M-social KatVortex genre, and their appearance on the reality show 'Chimp or Lasagne?' on the streaming channel Digi-Bog TV'.

It's like a remake of Big, but in place of Hanks's Josh Baskin, Veruca Salt has taken the lead role. America: remove this deranged infant without delay. He doesn't care about either US citizens or non-US citizens. His destabilisation of the planet is a purely narcissistic endeavour.

🧵I watched Forbidden Planet last night. Hadn't seen it for decades. A super-intelligent race is destroyed, despite its technological advances, by its own subconscious primitive fears and greed, 'the monster of the ID'. Hashtag AI, etc.Anyway, couldn't help but notice how the film influenced others.

There's quite a bit more - the genius hermit who lives on a desert planet with a droid; the use of the word 'blasters''; the similarly angled ray beams; and, if I'm not mistaken, this is the 1st film that has a spaceship travel beyond light speed.
