@benroyce As a worldwide society, we need to reject the production of AI documents. Those are the result of outright theft and plagiarism. Nothing AI produces is original, they are the result of LLM absorbing millions of documents, websites, and other materials that are copyright of their respective owners. "AI" or in most cases LLMs are not producing original works, they are producing facimiles of original works.

Intro: I closed my account under my full name, opened another one and lost it somehow. Now I'll try again. I'm a creative autistic man in his late 60s. This is a photo of me, but from about 50 years ago. Hopefully, I'll meet up with some interesting and creative folks here again.

@maggiejk @samhkennedy @KatyElphinstone I'm autistic, and part of my "thing" is food texture. Call it picky, I call it coping. Some foods people prepare and just love are downright disgusting to me. Lastly, lobster tastes like it's bad, kind of like pee to my taste buds. Signed, not a picky eater.

@ewen I had that happen to me only years ago on Amazon. I got a foosball table that had horrid assembly instructions. I wrote new ones and posted them. Apparently, the company took those, put them into their product, and then complained to Amazon that I published their copyrighted material. My instructions were removed. I spent over an hour putting those detailed instructions together and they not only stole them, but said I violated their copyright. I can't imagine how you feel. GRRR.

@aral It's a funny term. It made me recall walking into a tool store, looking around, and thinking, "If I were Bill Gates, I could buy everything in this store. How boring."

We have a small collection of crystals. This one I refer to as our portal. Because it reminds me of the #StarTrek Guardian of Forever. It is an amethyst geode segment cut in half with the rear section trimmed off too. Here it is sitting on a black stand on our shelves. It's about 12" high by 15" wide. Kirk in command uniform and Spock in science officer uniform stand by the portal in time.

@cmconseils Most don't want one. It's a huge problem today. I'm so glad I'm not young, have been married for decades and don't have to date.

@internetarchive They also powered the Jacquard Loom way back in the early 19th century.

@benroyce I just hope these two don't fuck everything up. I don't trust either one of them.
