@prema @futurebird I used to mainly use desktop PCs up until about four years ago when I ended up homeless, where it was impossible to have one, or a laptop because it would definitely get stolen.So I did everything on a phone for about 4 years because it's what I had.You can do absolutely everything you can on a PC if your phone is nice enough except games.Including produce whole EDM songs.Just gotta have quick thumbs.Or a Bluetooth keyboard.

@futurebird @prema Desktops are nice to have for really processing heavy applications because they can be a lot more powerful. Faster processors, way more ram, way more storage.Like video production or something. Or gaming. Or compiling.But most people really don't have a practical purpose for more power than what you can get for about 200 bucks now on a phone or tablet.That'll do 99% of people just fine.

@futurebird I find that it's a right of passage as someone studying biology to learn all those fucked up names of things.You can tell someone really knows their stuff when they actually can throw all those fucked up words around like it's Tuesday and they're talking about knitting.But it would make things a lot more convenient.

@futurebird I am always up to something. I have my health back after not having it for a long time, and actually able to get out and about whenever I like.It's a gift a lot of people don't realize they take for granted. I always think of how many perfectly healthy people just sit inside their house all day.They'll probably regret it when they end up unable to go anywhere anymore, and it will happen to most of us eventually.

So much of my life has been hardship that it doesn't even really register in my mind anymore.Some things I've experienced I'll never speak about. They are too disturbing to me. You'd have wanted to die, and I certainly did. For years of my life. I was too ANGRY to die.If I died, the people who hurt me accomplished what they set out to.A slow death to wash their hands of and bury.Now they suffer.I'm fine, and I'll sooner hang myself before giving them a rope.#writing #mentalhealth

@deutrino I kinda had the same thoughts.My favorite from being in the mental hospital recently was how the doctor didn't even know I had Tourettes until I felt and just kept randomly assigning Antipsychotics and getting really really mad every time I refused them.He must have just thought I was bipolar or hearing things. Never asked my issues.I wasn't nice either.I literally told him his treatments were fucking worthless to me and he should find a job he was good at.

@deutrino Every antipsychotic I've taken made me depressed and lacking in will.They also make your Tourettes worse if you're on them for a long time then stop. They did take away a lot of tics. If I don't have them I find I also lose my will to do anything because they usually motivate me to do stuff. Moving actively feels extremely good.I was misdiagnosed as skizoeffective a long time.Also it took away my synesthesia and it was like a lost loved one when it came back.#mentalhealth #rant

@deutrino I found out I have literally a one in a million brain a while ago.My particular set of conditions adds up to about that chance even including comorbid factors.Then I took an actual IQ test, and whether you want to use that to actually define intellect or not is debatable, but I discovered a savant ability for pattern finding and learning new info quickly as well, and an official IQ of about 150.So my whole body is fucked up.But I'm really fit and a genius O.o

@deutrino Me too.When I realized my drug addiction stemmed from things that were never really my fault, self medicating for problems I did not know I had, I was able to let go of almost all my shame and reclaim my power, and happiness.I didn't know until about 27 or 28 I had any of these issues for sure.Just shots in the dark that hurt me, and I never got help much. My family just shamed me constantly for being sick into silence so they could bury their abuse.I am very happy to be alive.

It's difficult to compute in my head how large the #losangeles area is.If you take the bus, it takes you about 3-4 hours depending on traffic to get from the northern most suburb of Sylmar to the southern most of San Pedro next to Long Beach.That's all LA btw, not separate cities that connect to LA that you call LA out of convenience.It's mostly suburbs that all look the same, so you don't compute that you just traveled across 4 million people, and 45 miles.#writing #randomthoughts #rant

#piracy has literally become easier than trying to legit pay for media at this point.Because I can get all my music by ripping MP3s with share links on Mp3/4 conversation sites.I can get a lot of movies/shows the same way.I can get every movie, show, game and song imaginable all in one #torrent site unless it's VERY obscure and keep it forever.All for free, and all easier than paying hundreds or maybe even thousands for a million different arbitrary platforms.#writing #tech #rant

I realize that part of me fundamentally thinks poorly of having high social status, or a lot of #money that you waste on nothing.I grew up with a family that was better off financially than 99% of families by the time I was around 11. Quite a bit off and on before that with things more unstable.That same family gave me #cptsd severity only about 1% of people share.So despite having more money than 99% of families, 99% of kids had a better life I envied.#writing #mentalhealth #reflection
