I am part of a campaign to get a womens aidnservice their funds back. They have been defunding after the council decided there were equality gaps, and that services should include rehab of perps. The service is generic and cheaper. I have a meeting today with the campaign women and the head of the council.I am going to give him my view from the lived experience of domestic abuse as a child, and an adult.Do any of you have any advice or questions or statements I can put forward about the importance of womens aid as a specialist service?I have my own, but I guess I am just looking for other viewpoints and angles that might make him realise he is on the wrong side.The council even spoke to Women in the service who told them it was invaluable. And this was ignored.

@BCLADY thank you. Some insightful questions I can defo use.The worry is that if they get away with this, other local authorities will follow suit. So far they are the only local authority in Scotland to defund a womens aid service like this. The point you make abuse the cost of helping traumatised children after the abuse, instead of prevention or intervention, is a very good one.I appreciate everyone responding.Solidarity sisters ❤
