@TonyStarkStaff members leave Kamala Harris' office after her first year -- WaPo calls it an "exodus".Staff members leave Mike Pence's office after his first year -- WaPo calls it Mike Pence shaking things up. Dana Milbank describes this BS coverage accurately.

@TonyStarkIt’s not just the violent storming of the Capitol on Jan 6 (as if that weren't sufficient) but the in plain sight strong arming of local officials to countermand the free and fair elections results of the 2020 elections. “I just want to find 11780 votes,” says the highest elected official in the land. How much more “in plain sight” is there? In Texas one poor soul (Black, of course) that we've been talking about is convicted of attempting to cast one ballot, unwittingly, while on supervised release and sentenced to 5 years. Give me a break.

@TonyStarkRussia is not a democracy. They need to control all of the message. There's no space for dissent more than in China. That's what MAGA and the GOP proposes.Take note, America, before you vote for Trump again.

Voting rights aren't what Republicans are talking about.  They want to change the way Congress interacts with the electoral count.  My bet, they want to put on the onus on the States (as in States' Rights) because they know, as we speak/comment, all Republican-controlled states are rewriting election laws to inhibit access to voting, and corrupting election board leadership and laws so they can decide who wins an election. This is nowhere what we need to prevent more problems in our democracy. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2022/01/04/congress-fix-electoral-count-act/

@LearnTribeLet me add that from my perspective, there's a lot of racism involved in this in addition. No person of color would be skating away from any of this. Not that they should because obviously not but over here, there's a lot of white privilege involved. @TonyStark

@MariaHillCan you imagine a German version where teaching of the Holocaust is banned because it might make Germans uncomfortable learning about their past? That’s exactly what CRT fearmongering is: denying American History so certain Americans never have to confront their past.

I found this morning that addresses an issue I have encountered personally - that female candidates for office often get asked about their abilities to both run for and hold office while also being a parent of a child. This is the sort of question NOT asked, usually, of male candidates. In the attached article, a woman running for state senate in New York had a Zoom meeting with a "progressive" group that managed to find the time to ask the "do you have the time?" question twice in the space of five minutes. This had a discouraging effect on the candidate and one member of the group resigned afterwards out of disappointment. However, no one called out the questions during the meeting, and that underscores the importance of doing so when the opportunity arises, if you can. But, ultimately, the "do you have the time" question is always answered by the candidate themselves. The answer is always "yes", otherwise they wouldn't be running. https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/2022/03/04/state-senate-candidate-motherhood/

@TonyStarkNotice how in the picture at the top, Biden is on a call, actually doing something productive, actually listening, actually being a leader, unlike the Orange Guy who pretended to do all that while wrecking everything.

When Judge Ketani Brown Jackson was representing a Guantanamo detainee, she was following the dictates of her job as a D.C. public defender and was also following the instructions in the U.S. Constitution which says a prisoner "has to have the assistance of counsel for his defense". Why do the Republicans have trouble understanding this? Maybe because they actually don't believe in following the laws and upholding the U.S. Constitution? The job of public defenders is an honorable occupation in service of the constitutional guarantee of legal counsel. Representation of Guantanamo detainees requires a substantially higher level of skill, determination, and courage. I am even more willing to see her confirmed to the Supreme Court because of her service as a public defender.https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/03/22/ketanji-brown-jackson-supreme-court-hearing-live-updates/

@TonyStarkKetanji Brown Jackson will be MOST qualified justice on the bench when she starts - period. She will get through these hearings without a sweaty meltdown and will bring a voice of justice to the court like a bell. Thank you, JOE! Thank you, voters. Elections matter. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/interactive/2022/ketanji-brown-jackson-school-career

@TonyStarkJust in the past week, we’ve had at least 3 major Republican scandals: Judge Thomas’ obvious conflict of interest in voting to suppress the release of information that could implicate his insurrectionist wife; Rep. Cawthorn telling us that his GOP colleagues host cocaine-fueled sex parties; and of course, Trump asking Putin for help slandering President Biden while Putin is slaughtering thousands of women and children and obliterating cities in Ukraine. Trump couldn't care less if Putin murders millions of Ukrainians, and if Trump was still president, he’d be actively helping Putin.Incredibly, none of this bothers Republican voters one bit. The more sleazy, corrupt and disgusting you are, the more they like you, it appears.

@TonyStarkRepublicans want to defund public education and just make any education available to those that can pay, along with limiting what students can even learn about.Getting good public schools is the way to go, not dumping money into charter schools so people like Betsy DeVos can buy more yachts.

When will the media press Mike Lee to explain himself or resign? He’s a United States Senator who was out plotting sedition. Is that not the job of journalists today? How about his constituents? Outspoken conservative Republican Congressman Madison Cawthorne said this week, “There’s only one God and two genders,” in a tweet that is part of his culture war against the LGBTQ community. He has endorsed hyper-masculinity as a moral good and worked hard on supporting anti-LGBTQ legislation. Also this week a friend of his from his campaign released these pictures of him feeling himself in a bra and hoop earrings. While I'm all about people being free to wrap themselves in anything they want and I applaud the bra and hoop earrings if that's what makes Madison happy, it's the hypocrisy of trying to destroy other people's happiness that's an issue for me. Shame on Madison and shame on the Republicans who support his anti-rights work.Exclusive: Madison Cawthorn photos reveal him wearing women’s lingerie in public setting-https://www.politico.com/news/2022/04/22/madison-cawthorn-photos-00027286

@kelenaYou can't find a single one who has anything to offer expect the very small, small number of them that at least admit Trump lost. It makes my head just about explode when anyone says all we need to do is listen to Republicans and be nice. When are they going to do that for me, a Black, queer woman? Haven't seen it one day of my life yet.@gus @TonyStark
