@wizard I think you may be on to something. I'm not sure how you would be able to incorporate it sensibly. But it would ne interesting at least.

@wizard As much as I rant about the epsilon abomination, the course Real Analysis really got into the nuts and bolts of calculus.

@wizard That's sort of important. Fundamental even.I think that there's a rush to get through X amount of content. But no one wants to spend the time laying a foundation.In my experience it shows with textbooks. I've had more success with courses that are taught from 30 year old texts than the newest greatest thing.

@Che5hire Practice. It helps if you are talking to some someone that is actually there at first. Either physical or because you are streaming the content.

@Che5hire Yeah. I have a code thingy for FFXIV. I stopped playing a while ago, but I'm pretty sure I could reactivate my account whenever. If I do I have to find that dongle and hope it still has power.

God damn it Windows. Updates should not keep breaking shit. I set up custom configs on my mouse for a reason, resetting it to default is not cool.Now I have to remember what I did to make it work for me in the first place.

@crlf Yeah. I wish I could be on my BSD or Linux boxes all the time, but sometimes I'm still stuck with this nonsense. It's not really a big deal, I mean I already fixed it. It's just that it should never have been a problem to begin with.

I can't get a handle on KSP orbital rendezvous. Anyone have a link to a good tutorial? I want to sync my orbit to rescue kerbals for a mission. I have no issues getting into orbit. I can adjust my inclination to match just fine. But it seems like dumb luck to get the timing right to actually be close enough to get to them.

@StarglassRabbit @DetectiveHyde No. Honestly, I've only ever played with a tileset. Fun game. I was never very good at it, but I enjoyed competing with friends for high scores while at Uni.

@DetectiveHyde @StarglassRabbit I don't remember. I know I never got to the Amulet.

@DetectiveHyde @StarglassRabbit I think my top score was like 120k with a Valkyrie. I'm not sanity checking that score, so if it's off by an order of magnitude I wouldn't be surprised.

@lethalbit Uh, a single test clip from that brand can cost close to $20. You're getting 6 and a nice case. It's not a bad value, presumably.Could you get a cheapass thing that does the same task? Sure. And honestly that's my policy for tools anyway. Get the cheapest version of something you can find, if you use it enough to find the limitations of the cheap product, then upgrade to the highest quality you can afford.

@wizard I like it but never beat it. I got to a puzzle that was so damned tedious. And if you got it even a little wrong you had to start all over. I tried to get that puzzle for a couple of hours before I just gave up.

@wizard I've never had issues with spacemacs speed. It was what actually got me to use emacs at all.

@wizard The thing is, your insurance isn't for you. It's to pay someone that you may accidentally hurt or damage. And you definitely want the other drivers on the road to have insurance to pay you if they cause something that happens to you.It depends on the insurance company, but if you call in right away, they may be able to put you back on your old rate. It may be a lost cause/waste of time, but it only costs a bit of time to ask and $50/month adds up.

@Technowix It's fairly common. It always annoys me, if I'm trying to delete it, I want it gone. But, as long as the delay isn't too long and I don't have to do anything else. But maybe a hide account/ lock account redirect for people that want something to happen now, while waiting for the delete thing to happen.

Some people know they are an adult when they are excited to get nice clothes as gifts. I know I'm an adult when I'm excited about office furniture.(Seriously though, this desk is amazing. Motorized standing desk with four remembered height settings. A tempered glass top. And a drawer with a lovely felt bottom.)Although, now I need to invest in a mousepad/headphone stand/ and an anti-fatigue mat. But it's worth it.
