@_Trollcow_ Alright, here's an actual specific situation I ran into recently. so lately I got into Taiko no Tatsujin, a video game with a drum controller. It's a lot of fun. So, like most music games, there's a PC simulator for it - basically, a program all to itself that replicates the gameplay of Taiko, but without the official graphics and sounds. But, you can import fan-made recreations of the song patterns, which play alongside the song ripped from the game, giving you every single song that's ever been in the series. Most music games have something like this. So, where do you get such a thing? For starters, you could check the subreddit, which will link you to a guide: tjadataba.se/ This is great and all, until you get to the part where you actually need the songs, which are locked behind......a Discord channel, of course. Why the fuck is this locked behind a Discord room? Are they trying to foster a community? Why should I have to touch a fuckin' Reddit Discord community just to play a game? I don't want to have anything to do with these people, I just want to play my game. And I really, really don't wanna have to reinstall Discord and remember my username + password just for this one thing - I abandoned that shit ages ago. Apparently you can't even make an account without a phone number anymore, either, so even throwaways are off limits. I just wanna play a video game in peace. I don't want to have to slog through the domain of groomers and unhinged psychopathic fetishists just to play a video game, yet, that's what you have to do. Like, holy shit, why?

One thing I used to do was image search default filenames from cameras just to see what came up. Mostly it's just pictures of landscapes, pets, people, whatever, but one day I searched IMG_1488.JPG and this came up. I have no idea what the context is, or who these people are, but it always makes me laugh
