       @gme I used to work for a medical device company. We stupidly built the software in Windows. Windows is not a real-time OS. We should have used an RTOS, but the lead engineer only knew Windows. That led to its own set of problems.The other problem was that Windows would occasionally force a reboot to update WHILE A SURGERY WAS IN PROGRESS!That company does not exist anymore.

       @tk Ideally, you should shoot at the camera's native ISO and only go to a higher one out of necessity.For most cameras, that's ISO 100 or 200. The manual should tell you.Shoot in RAW. RAWs should have lower noise.Don't set exposure based on whether it "looks good" on the display. That isn't accurate. Check the histogram.Read up on ETTR. (Overexpose and then fix exposure in post-processing.)Use a camera with a larger sensor.Use noise reduction SW, but don't overdo it.
