The level of cover-up of the illegality of #Robodebt by DHS and DSS has been horrifying and should be splashed across the front page of every paper everyday. And the Ministers’ cop outs of not knowing how debts were raised, not questioning the legality of the scheme (despite being lawyers), is infuriating. Every single person involved needs to face consequences. They need sleepless nights and painful loss, esp given how comfortable they were inflicting that on thousands of Australians. #AusPol

@Teri_Kanefield Thanks, Teri. Anna Bower’s thread notes that the origin of the Dems bill was in a real problem, that it’s hard to hold prosecutors to account. What might be a viable solution to that? Is there one in such hyperpartisanship?

@Teri_Kanefield It absolutely is, and it’s why I follow you! 😉 I worked as a psychologist before a medical condition forced me to give it up, so criminal law is both foreign and fascinating for me, for the reasons you mentioned, but also for its role as a democratic institution and its frightening potential to be weaponised.
