@raccoon I believe the sequence is to record the audio, then to run a denoising filter on it afterward.You need to capture some of the noise-without-any-other-sound for the filter to know what to be removing.I *think* Audacity ( audio editor ) has such a feature.hth!_ /\ _

@vriska Never mistake equal-validity with being identical.I CANNOT understand why so much of the world apparently *won't* know this simple point.Equal VALIDITY, not identicality.When people say "How can men & women be equal: they're different?",you can change "men & women" to other contrasts,and see how prejudice is all it is.Try it with "whites & nonwhites".Try it with "financial-class people & underclass people".Try it with "young people & old people".Try it with "people from my country & people who aren't from my country".The LOGIC is faulty.Identicality doesn't exist in any 2 material objects bigger than an atom.Equal-VALIDITY is the real meaning.By *assuming* it was meant in the single term "equality", everybody has been *accommodating* the disinformation's growing-roots in the discussion.We need to keep the logic correct._ /\ _

@ParadeGrotesque I rather suspect that Microsoft is, at this point, "The Titanic", with full thrust, & a sea of icebergs to "entertain" it.They can't either buy or snuff or control Torvalds, right?& there are sooo many people in the Linux world who remember all the abuses, gaslighting, etc...I'm old-enough that the stolen & corrupted version of Stac Electronics's drive-compression code, in MS DOS 6.20, corrupted my disk.While they've proven *effective* at making the market dishonest ( PC doesn't mean "Personal Computer", rather it means Microsoft Windows?? Really? ), there is a limit to what they get-away-with.They just haven't hit it, yet.Universe guarantees that they, like everybody, die.If we *accommodate* their mungeing us, then we deserve it.However, I suspect that it is *possible* to defeat the gaslighter permanently, in the FLOSS world, & the Linux world, but it'd require somebody with real spine...( neither Ian ( who named his distro after himself & his partner Deb ), nor that R. Hat guy, nor Slackware, nor Ubuntu, got big by being committee-oriented.The Linux Kernel isn't a committee: it's a dictatorship, right?( Torvalds himself said so, years ago )I believe the "Auteur" model of game-development in Japan is related to this concept...Committee *cannot* produce decisive/distinct/robust/unique market-shaping results, because of its nature...However, a decisive/distinct/robust/unique person/team, *could*, see?The entire FLOSS world may have been selecting-for the wrong things.Our survival is now dependent on selecting-for the *right* things.Consistently._ /\ _

@news I've read that colony-collapse disorder is the specific conjunction of a particular fungus with a particular virus.IF what I'd read is true,THEN use this as a means of getting *doubly* certain about preventing that combination, which produces colony-collapse disorder( it apparently clobbers their immune-systems,which means that once those 2 are in fugue,EVERYthing that can infect them does so ),from getting in.Please dig-in,while digging-in can still do some good.._ /\ _

@fcktheworld587 @shrugdealer Has anybody compiled a list of "hits" on US journalists who did important work & then "coincidentally" died, that you know-of?US & worldwide, actually...I hope someone's made such a list,as it would make doing basic statistical probability test of the "coincidence" vs that-isn't-mere-coincidence much easier..( that should be so easy for a statistician,or for some R code, for that matter,that it should be automatic,so that all hits-against-accountability get escalated into terrorism investigations, every time )I know from having had to prevent a suicide, once,that when police commit terrorism against some minority, in front of witnesses,that there IS a suicide-footprint, among witnesses,and given enough cases,that suicide-footprint *must* be statistically visible.The problem isn't detecting the suicide-footprint,the problem is tying it to the enforcement-terrorism,which enforcement won't record,and which it will suppress record of.( I'm saying that knowing that police are people,that some precincts are good, some neutral, many low-level-corrupt, and some evil,and that it is the civil/social betrayal of the real worth in police, "turning our back on them",that jacks the odds for the increase in corrupt, evil, & supremacist-gang owned precincts.I *also* know that some forces have such toxic cultures, that no matter how good the person you put into that force,they either turn significantly more sociopathic/nihilist/sadist, because that culture forces it,or they are forced-out,and those cultures are *indelible* to helping.In those cases, the corruption is in the top people.Until they are removed, those forces *cannot* be brought back into healthy-humanness.Given the high suicide-rate among people in those forces,the corruption of the top *should* be identifiable in the abnormally-high suicide-rate among the members of that force!And that amplified suicide-rate should, itself,be deemed criminality of the corrupt top people,who poison the entire force.There's a book "Things They Cannot Say", by Kevin Sites, iirc, on war, war-correspondants, & veterans,and the corrupt "relationship" that civilization/society has with them,and the consequences of that corrupt "relationship".Much of what's in that book also applies to the now-militarized enforcementthat acts to displace community( which is the opposite of community-police-services, obviously )Anyways, factional-prejudicecan go eat rocks.There are good & evil people in gov't, in military, in journalism, in enforcement, in healthcare, in ngo's, etc,but some *cultures* concentrate specific subsets of human-evil into them,and then once they've consolidated-enough,they become immune-to-accountability,AND immune-to-correction.Exactly as it isn't possible to easily rip-out the drug-cartel-rule from Mexico,since it gained supremacy.Once the tipping-point is crossed,it becomes a stable Equilibrium,and forcing a Punctuation, removing it,COSTS much much more than preventing it would have cost.Same with corruption, factional-supremacism, racial-supremacist-gangs ( including the kkk, the confederates, the nazis, the original fascist Marcus Garvey, etc )Either objectivity & integrity & accountability win, or .. life, itself, loses.Isn't The Great Filter an .. *effective* .. means of cleaning out our Solar System? )Humbug on evil,and accountability *can* win:integrity's more intelligent._ /\ _
