Fascinating article that gives a ton more insight as to how the move to the Saturn went down and the struggles.Up till this point we've basically only heard one side of the story.Well, here's the other side and it's quite eye opening.Information from both Shoichiro Irimajiri and Hayao Nakayama.I've heard quite a big of this from someone who was close to Sega of Japan in the 90's and early 2000's, but it's nice to see it in an official capacity.https://mdshock.com/2023/07/10/irimajiri-speaks-out-about-the-saturn-the-32x-and-soas-financial-troubles/#sega #retrogaming

https://youtu.be/hUyYeHs3i6Y?si=pzy2iNSphuRnx1KBrilliant list. The only one that took me aback was his Fire Emblem choice since I adore Three Houses. Haven’t played Engage yet so I can’t really compare them. But I’m hoping that the next game goes back to the Three Houses formula as that really hooked me.

@nafnlj Sounds like a combination of both games would be ideal.Perhaps they will wait until the next system to release a new entry, although I heard that Engage was more of a tribute game and that a full on sequel has been in development ever since Three Houses releases, so I'm wondering if it might be a cross gen one...Funny thing is, I have a tough time finishing games, but I completed the original Fire Emblem Warriors and loved it.Most people don't rate it high as a musou game...

@nafnlj The musou series is a bit misunderstood. You should look at them as an evolution of the beat em up genre really. Like a 3D Golden Axe. They can look super generic and boring. And while they are repetitive, each one has quite a unique spin on the gameplay. Not to mention how all the characters play different as well. It’s basically comfort food for me. Super easy to play after a long day and the hours just melt away.

@stdsxezat I really wish that Hamster would release Bagman on Switch under their Arcade Archives line. It's one of those games that I haven't played since it's arcade release over 40 years ago...Same with M.I.A. by Konami, the direct sequel to Rush 'N Attack. It took me decades to finally found what it was called as it was one of those games that I only remembered a few flashes of.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWaVbe5tkPg

@nafnlj Oh, they were. But at the same time the Knuckles levels were a nice change of pace to slow down the game a bit and have some downtime. On their own, they wouldn't have been as fun, but I liked how they switched up the game.

@nafnlj The first time I played it was at the import shop when they got a Japanese copy in.I resisted the urge to buy a Japanese Dreamcast at the Tim (wish I hadn't looking back at it), so I knew that when it finally released over here, I wanted a copy wether the reviews turned out positive or negative.A very simple, yet really fun game. 😊

@aral I don't want to put anyone on the spot or make them feel bad, but it's true.As you engage with his products, you do play into his hand, even if it's just using Twitter to keep up with a niche hobby.in the end it only benefits him, willingly or not.Just something to keep in mind...

@stdsxezat Strange how that blue grid brings up such strong nostalgia feelings in me.Must be because of all the times I played Amidar on an arcade cabinet back in those days.
