@Lisa22 @JM No Biden-supporting Never Trumpers get a pass. Biden was, very obviously, a senile fool with a lifelong public record of peevishness and mediocrity. There is no excuse.Early in Trump's first term, I tried to read as many articles as I could, to find out what these Never Trumpers were on about. Never did manage to figure it out. Some combination of "Not our class, darling" and "but he doesn't act like a President" is as close as I could come.

@holymolyrocky @EarlThePearlsCreating a commission is an old politics trick when you're under a lot of pressure to do something that you don't want to do, or don't think you'll succeed at. So you appoint a commission, and there, you did something, yay you. They used to even call it a "blue ribbon commission," but that has fallen out of use. At least they didn't call it a "Tiger team."

@Jaime Sometimes it looks to me as though the Biden gang is planning to make everyone angry at them, except wokies. Now they want to ban menthol cigarettes, the choice of 85% of black smokers.Their argument seems to be mainly that black smokers are helpless children who only make choices because they have been exploited.I'm sure all that will go over really well.

@Lonestar I don't remember where it was, but it was one of those loose, happy, fun outdoor shows in the West.It was always hard to decide which I liked better, the driving, insistent vibe of the Northeast shows, or the laid-back joy of the Western shows.

@EarlThePearls I once sat down at a place in Singapore where they offered clay pot rice. When they said it would take 30 minutes or more, I knew I was in the right place. I ordered a beer, and they poured it over ice. Yeah, it was hot and humid.When it arrived, it was everything I had dreamed of. And it came with a round scraper, to get the crispy bits off of the bottom of the clay pot.

@Jaime Marxism is always boring. It's like some sort of universal law. I almost wonder whether they rely on that.I couldn't even make it through Thomas Sowell's book about it. He's a fascinating writer, but the subject matter put me to sleep.
