@kev it is amazing to me how many LinkedIn link requests I get from people I have never interacted with. I'm not sure if they're trying to pad their connection numbers or what it is but it does often surprise me

Hmm yet another "all your communication in one app" pitch. From Google! https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2020/01/report-google-planning-tenth-messaging-app-this-ones-another-slack-clone/

@jordan31 which parts of Gitlab aren't available from the terminal? You may need ssh but it should all be available as far as I know

Anyone come up with a good rule of thumb for dealing with IM? I hate the interruptions but shutting it off entirely isn't really an option either because of company policy--no doubt instituted by people who've never written software. I silenced all the notifications that I can; it's (ugh) MS Teams. Anyone have any thoughts about how to deal with this?

@wizzwizz4 Yeah that's what I'm inclined to do. But there are cultural issues there and I don't need yet another CLM. 😀

@kev I feel like there must be some communication missing from his narrative. Or the CEO of Ghost is incredibly petty and impulsive! Maybe both! 😀

@mike Yeah I usually preface those talks with “Wow, I can see you put a lot of work into this . . . but . . . “

@mike it seems as if Netflix’s superior culture is a thing of the past so why not just go the rest of the way to evil empiricism 😀

When I hear from recruiters that it's hard to find Elixir/Clojure/Scala/<insert niche language> developers it's because they have no idea where to look. It's like bitching that they can't find palm trees in Minnesota. You want to find developers--go where they are!
