Close landing...Mr. Blue Heron, while I was sitting on the beach watching for something interesting that wasn't gulls, this guy landed about 30ft from me... you have no idea how slowly I lifted my camera lolLight was to his back but gave a nice silhouette I think :) #myphoto #photography #birds #nature #heron

Greater or Lesser... that is the question...I believe this is a Greater Yellowlegs, identification between it and the Lesser is tricky except for size. But since I've never seen either, I have no comparison. However, I did think I could hear an Eagle, but the pitch was off, and listening to these 2, I settled on it being the Greater :) I also loved the colours of the Autumn trees reflecting in the water.#myphoto #photography #birds #nature #yellowlegs

It's odd to think these guys just fly around where you are, I've been raised with only knowing them in captivity, you say "Cockatoo" to me and I think "bird in a cage", great to see them wild and free :)
