@fitheach Never really thought about this before - I used to get a paper every Saturday but stopped a few years ago. Now I get one only if I'm getting on a train for more than half an hour.

@fitheach I'm neutral on indy (I don't think it's as important either way as most folks think) but Flower of Scotland becoming the actual national anthem of an independent Scotland might just sway me against. That said, my choice would be I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles), mainly because you can be sure everybody already knows the words, but I know it would be a divisive choice too ....

@fitheach An interesting study in how a song can affect people different ways! You've met some interesting people :D Looking on to my own reaction to Flower of Scotland, I realise I'm objecting to militarism and the more misty-eyed side of nationalism. In which case, I might as well just say that I don't like national anthems ....

@fitheach (It also goes almost without saying that still I vastly prefer Flower of Scotland to God Save The Queen, in both tune and sentiment).
