       @rchusid didn't Israel's high court rule that civil marriages conducted remotely through Utah must be recognized? Also the org Hashgacha Pratit is pioneering a valid alternative for orthodox weddings outside the Chief Rabbinate .

       @rchusid Not implying that but the ability is just about in place to allow interfaith/non-religious marriages domestically. They do recognize marriages conducted outside of Israel even if remotely now as well as a start to developing an alternative to the state monopoly even for Orthodox weddings.Its bizarre for a western democracy for sure. In the region it is quite typical though, and 21% of Israel's population are Arabs. So, the process for changes will be filtered through all groups.
