Honestly I'm becoming more and more interested in trying out #Linux lately. I've asked about it in a Discord server and I was recommended #PopOS. I think I might try installing it in #virtualbox and see how it goes. I guess I'm mainly held back by the learning curve and the fact that I wanna learn about a bunch of other tech stuff, so adding a whole new operating system might be pretty overwhelming.

@stux @lukas I wanted to look into #misskey earlier but I got intimidated because the main page didn't have a full English translation. It only just occurred to me that since it's part of the Fediverse, there's probably an English instance :blobfoxfacepalm: I'll look into yours haha

@stux Mastodon is my personal favorite, but I'm biased because it was my introduction to the Fediverse (recommended by a friend :) ). I have Pixelfed but it feels very empty. I've checked out a few PeerTube instances, and they're pretty neat, but overall Mastodon is definitely my favorite.

@stux Not sure if you're aware but I read through the GitHub issue you linked and it seems like they've finally decided to add this as of July 30, 2021. https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/1481I mean you obviously don't have to host it again if you don't want to, just thought you should know.

@sean Yeah that's what I figured. That is really admirable!Maybe you or other creators could crosspost *some* content to YouTube and advertise that you post all videos to PeerTube? Or hell, even upload videos to PeerTube first and upload to YouTube a week later or something

@sean I'm cautiously optimistic about it personally, especially since I have #Fallout brainrot.As a side note, I personally love the Bethesda games though I wasn't even alive when the first two games came out and my introduction to the series was Fallout 4. I've already bought Fallout 1 and 2 and I'm planning on playing them, but I want to finish up Fallout New Vegas and 3 first.
