@BrodieOnLinux I've given up on "modern" gaming. Open source games and emulators have served me right the past few months, and with more and more emulators adding retroachievements and multiplauer support, the features gaming through steam or gog haves over emulation is dwendling.

@BrodieOnLinux i use wayland on kde. Really wish i could fully boot x11 off the system, the only things that are holding me back is godot and wine and maybe some underlying kde services?

@BrodieOnLinux Its amazing. If I had to guess they probably found out they were vastly miscalculating how much money they would get from people buying games in their old models prices, which is probably why they were so comfortable putting the deck on sale every major sale.

@BrodieOnLinux Its a amazing deal. A hdr oled monitor thats above 60 hertz probably cost more than the whole steam deck itself. Chances are im getting the 1tb model and turning my current gaming pc into a server since I don't really play AAA games that much anymore.

@BrodieOnLinux I've been waiting for SBCs like the raspberry pi and the like to support AV1 decode before i make the full switch to AV1.But at the same time the steam deck supports AV1 decode so... media pc that can stream anywhere could be a thing ig :)

@BrodieOnLinux i say its 50/50. Tiling window managers are great up unless you just want something that works ootb. In my two weeks switching from kde to hyprland ive had a lot of issues ive had to solve for myself, such as learning how to handle themeing and dealing with config files to get some things working. In return though I have a desktop that is perfectly tuned for what I want and not what kde or gnome thinks I want.

@BrodieOnLinux wayland broke xrandr and this application i must use doesnt work anymore since i touched it 2 years ago, i think its something like oh bee ess? therefore all the devs should stop working on wayland and make x12 instead :l
