@tomjennings I last ran the MS-DOS version of Wordstar in 1989 and have fond memories of it. I remember being surprised to discover it had a column editing mode which few other editors had at the time. I don't recall ever running into a crash or error.

@tomjennings I had a CP/M box before I got a DOS machine but never had the money for Wordstar at home. I got to use it at work and continued using those same commands for Turbo Pascal at home. My next job gave me access to a Sun workstation which got me hooked on vi which I'm still using.

@tomjennings I've got fond memories of using DESQview 386 to enable me to run a BBS while still being able to use my PC for other tasks. If I ran a game, BBS users could notice the lag but overall it ran amazingly well. I used that until I started playing with Yggdrasil Linux.

@tomjennings Kya, the female pit bull we adopted a year ago November, is very sweet at home but she's often reactive around other dogs and some people. It's a shame because she craves affection so much, which is probably the result of her two stints in a shelter. She loves lap time although at 60 pounds, she can be a a bit much sometimes.Like you with Devo, I worry about her because her personality can be somewhat off-putting to those who don't know her, especially when her nervousness is expressed with a low growl. Adopting her has been worth the effort. No matter how hard my day at work or the commute home has been, she manages to make me smile with her enthusiastic greeting.

@tomjennings Wow! I think that's cheaper than U.S. Robotics paid for my ISDN connection at home in 1996 while I was working there. And that came with a limit of 60 hours of connect time per month for a single 64k connection. USR paid for it because I needed the connection testing the USR ISDN (It Still Does Nothing) modem I wrote firmware for.
