Grandson said his father (a Trumper and an overall stupid person) told him there was no such thing as molecules, that was made up and they don't exist. The boy said he now doesn't know who to believe, his teacher or his father. Without bad-talking the asshole, my daughter told him that his father was just joking. @eclectech @futurebird I loved his books but I only read the ones with the "M." I liked Terraformers although I lean toward more gritty, hard scifi.

@futurebird @eclectech I think I get what you mean by fever-dream, for some reason I was never quite able to suspend my disbelief with the story so I didn't get absorbed into it. I like books I can imagine could be real in some future or alternate universe, it didn't quite do that. I think a lot of it was the characters, I just didn't imagine them being real.
