@theblessing did you know the "biblically accurate angels" meme is at best misleading and imo pretty much untrue. There are four types of heavenly creatures that are physically described in the Bible, aside from angels themselves. Ophanim and Cherubim in the beginning of Ezekiel, Seraphim in Isaiah, and the "living creatures" in Revelation. None of those are ever called angels, nor malakhim in the hebrew nor angelos in the greek. Scripture does refer to beings called things like "principalities" and "powers" and "dominions" as types of angels but doesn't describe them and they dont play any role in a narrative so they're kind of nothing. The word "angel" comes from the greek άγγελος meaning messenger/announcer, which is the word used to translate the hebrew "malakh" which means the same. Every being that's ever called an angelos or a malakh (naturally, the beings that deliver messages for God), and is described, is described as looking like a man. They also appear several dozens of times, unlike the beings mentioned above who are referenced three or four times each. As an example: when an angel appears to Samson's family to tell them that they'll bear a great son, they invite him inside to eat in celebration of that good news. The angel says he won't eat, but they can prepare a burnt offering to the Lord instead. Only when they burn the sacrifice and the angel flies up in its fire do they realize they'd been in the presence of an angel. There are a number of other examples where an angel is directly said to look like a man and a number of others still where the angel isn't described at all but no one seems to find its appearance worth remarking on.If you wanted you could argue semantics and say "anything from heaven that's not God is an angel. the word angel used to mean messenger but now that's what it means". That train of thought is at least as old as 500 AD where you start to find the "celestial hierarchies" you can see on wikipedia which will call all of them angels, but even then those people tend to believe that heavenly beings have no physical form and all their traits are purely symbolic. Dionysius calls it "vulgar and irreverent" to think of heavenly beings as having traits of animals or wheels or any thing earthly and goes to great lengths to explain the symbolic meaning of each descriptor. He also has a chapter dedicated to justifying why he calls them all angels, showing that he knew it was something needing justification rather than some thing he got from the text. He says it's because all of them communicate something about God's nature.More importantly than that, though, there are so many more humanoid angels than there are any other kind of heavenly creature, so the suggestion that cherubim, ophanim, seraphim, etc. are "biblically accurate" as to imply that humanoid angels are "inaccurate" still doesn't track. If the meme was "ezekielian angels" or idk "spooky scary eldritch angels" it would be purely a semantic issue not worth arguing but then it wouldn't be an epic correction to a Top 10 Misconceptions You've Always Believed.I'm also pretty sure that ophanim aren't meant to be living beings at all but rather the literal wheels of God's chariot, which is what Ezekiel is witnessing in his vision. I noticed when listening to scholars who read the text in Hebrew that they never mention the ophanim when they get to Ezekiel and only mention the cherubim, so I did a careful reading and realized the only thing that indicates they might be biomorphic is the "eyes all around". If you look at the text in Hebrew you'll see that a sentence or two earlier the same word for "eye" עֵ֣ין is used to mean "gleaming" in the gleaming of the beryl they're made of. I think that it's a misleading translation and it's really saying that the wheels are studded with gemstones, or that they're shiny all around. Imagine if I wrote a story about a hurricane and you translated it into a language that doesnt call the center the eye, and in one sentence you translated it as "calm spot" but in others you translated it as the organ that you see with. If I'm right then it's a really old mistake since they've been connected w/ the other creatures for thousands of years so it's kind of a moot point but I think it's an interesting observation.tl;dr the spoopy eldritch beings that are described in the bible aren't angels and IF, by quirk of language, you want to call them angels anyway, humanoid angels are more common by a huge factor and are certainly accurate

@quid gnosticism is kind of a meme term from the ground up i'm sure it was meant to strictly mean something but in reality they just call any train of christian thought that involves the metaphysical in any way gnostic and if it's in the canon then it's gnostic influence and if it's not in the canon then it's from The Gnostic Church of Jesus Christ that definitely existed in ancient greece
