@Morghur Dang, immediately im actually seeing some similarities to the jinn lore, as "black magic" is simply humans calling upon jinns to do their bidding. But also this reminds me of the theory of cave dwelling creatures/aliens that kidnap humans in the appalachias. The twists that you added, like their initial downfall, and them plotting to take over are very neat, im wondering if their corruption was more cultural than physical, although I suppose cultural corruption can affect the physical too.

@Morghur I love how they have all these grand plans of world takeover and then fall for jewelry layed outside their caves, its very ironic but also shows how easily a population can develop tunnel vision. Archetypes like these are always the most fascinating ones in fiction imo.

@Morghur a nice change of pace, elves are almost always arbiters of technology and infrastructure, the most knowledgeable. I think any population having some corrupting force inside that they have to fight nonstop is more dynamic. I think this world youre crafting has a lot of potential for stories.

@anonaccount happened in bangladesh too, we found oil reserves in an island called Saint Martin islands, the PM who, up until recently was in good graces with the US, tried hiding this info, and within months a "gen-Z" revolution kicked off, uni students magically accessed large amounts of firearms, all the opposing parties came together. The PM got kicked out and now saint martin island is occupied by the US army.
