       I will not support AI. I paid it a lot more than I intended to for the soul purpose of seeing what the doom was about, and oh boy I saw it alright. Ran one of my songs through it and the result, frankly, did better than me. Computers should not sound better than humans. They should not *do* better than humans at something they frankly shouldn't be involved in to the extent they are in the first place. I don't dislike AI because some of its results are shit, though they are. I dislike AI because it's getting good enough that the avvrage listener isn't going to be able to tell the difference between something spun up by a computer and something someone put time and effort and *aliveness* into crafting. I've seen people talk to bots as though they were aware. I've seen people offer things to them that they once did to me, as though they and I are capable of having the same kinds of reactions to them. I've seen people turn to things like Suno because they think no one else will be able, willing, or comfortable providing the things they get from AI-genorated, music-shaped audio. And as a creature who spent years composing as an outlet? That shit hurts.  I've used Suno. I've used chatGPT during very vulnerable moments. When I learned how llms work, I realized how much of myself I offered to tech giants that don't actually give a fuck about us. Then I saw other people, people I was/am close to, fall further into the hole than I ever did, replacing interaction with me and who knows who else with interactions with bots that act alive but can't be. I once had AI as a special interest. Not anymore. It's fucked up too much for that to ever happen again.#FuckAI #AI #technology #music #art #production

       @futurebird I deliberately seek out badly written stuff now to avoid AI shit, and this is coming from someone who played hard with llm tech as recently as this year to see its capabilities
