@mariahill @IronMan Cotton is surely on the 10 least wanted list for those of us who are interested in making the USA a better place. He will be in a crowded field of the most terrible politicians imaginable in the GOP next time, like you said. We won’t have the luxury of just assuming things will be better after 45* is gone.

@IronMan “Used to be a stand-up guy who backed law enforcement”... do they know how much they sound like a bad-cop movie cliche?

@IronMan I’ve tried so many times with my family that it feels like a lost cause. Yesterday, my dad brought up the subject of #GeorgeFloyd. I was dreading what he might say about the protests, but instead he said that he thinks all of the police who killed him should be in prison. It’s some progress, even though it might not sound like much.

Every person I’ve ever seen or heard calling themself an “independent thinker” on any platform is a dumpster dweller who just wants to fight.

If you want people to see you as someone who thinks for yourself, just do it instead of saying you do it. I promise that people aren’t going to be impressed because that’s in your bio.

The #BlackLivesMatter street mural in DC has inspired others across the country. Here’s one in Charlotte. https://amp.charlotteobserver.com/charlottefive/c5-people/article243393351.html

On one day in August, the Republicans will have about 336 delegates stinking up Charlotte with a vote to nominate trump for a second term. (I think they’re doing the bare minimum to avoid being sued for breach of contract.) It’s way better for the city than having 50,000 maskless morons roaming around, but the #RNC will instead take their dumpster festival to another city that also has residents who are scared of a #COVID19 super-spreader event. The GOP doesn’t care.https://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/politics-government/rnc-2020/article243453231.html

@IronMan I’m going to send Jaime Harrison some more money. One of the best ways to *really* solve the USA’s legacy of racism will be by electing more black leaders, as well as other people of color. We won’t see anything but more giant leaps backward with trump and his cult in office.

@IronMan We need a real president, better senators, more Democrats, and an overall better representation of what the population of our country looks like and believes. How do we get that? We get it by registering to vote and VOTING! #VoteBlue

The SCOTUS has ruled that LGBT workers are protected from job discrimination. 🏳️‍🌈(Earlier, the article said that transgender people weren’t part of this decision, but the article has been updated so I’ve redrafted this toot.)This was a 6-3 vote. It’s a great reminder that one of the most important factors in voting for POTUS is what type of Supreme Court justices they will choose. https://apnews.com/ef3c19a79b65c060fd9e82b9dd87a1d9

@IronMan In honor of Sesame Street, one of the first things that gave me a lifelong love of words, here’s a little ditty I’m going to call #BothPartiesAreNotTheSame:It really lights a fire under me When, even to this day, I sometimes seeA troll with confidence they don’t deserve.“The parties are the same,” they lie with glee.Would I claim that this is a great poem? No, it’s just a little verse.

@QueenRamonda @mariahill @CallMeMJ @IronMan Yep. I don't ever want to hear anyone say again that it "doesn't matter who's president" or that the president "doesn't even have much power," which are just two of the fun things I used to hear ignorant cynics say.
