@nerdtronics I think there's very few pieces of hardware that Linux runs absolutely perfectly on. It is great to see that it's so versatile and gets a long way on so many configurations though!

@nerdtronics It feels like on Linux there’s so many great lightweight options to choose from while on macOS there’s just not, they either lack syntax highlighting altogether or try to be as full featured as something like Visual Studio Code.I’ve settled on CotEditor there for quick edits, it’s lovely and lightweight, native, and focuses on editing text.https://github.com/coteditor/CotEditorAnd for the terminal Micro is a must-mention:https://micro-editor.github.io/

#HomeAssistant added Oral-B toothbrushes as an integration. This is awesome from a versatility standpoint as it proves how flexible Home Assistant is, but does make me wonder where we should be drawing lines for making things smart 🤔

@stux I drive a Peugeot 206 and my dad the other day asked if I could please reverse park his Dodge Ram. I’ve never felt less coordinated in a car despite it having rear view cameras and all those goodies, felt like I could hit a wall or another car anytime.Definitely agree with preferring the electric bike though! 🚲

@stux It took me years to realise that the Applications folder you see there was a shortcut to the actual Applications folder in most DMGs and not just a picture 😅 I always manually fiddled my way to it

It makes sense from Valve’s perspective, it saves them tonnes of bandwidthYour point about network utilisation can be solved by setting bandwidth limits I guessI’m at least happy that Steam and Valve as a whole seem rather consumer oriented, contrary to the other players in this scene :blobcatsad:

@charadon Yeah I get you, the Steam client can feel incredibly clunky. Especially the whole “fancy animated interface” thing on desktop can get fairly slow.I usually disable the library animations and put it in power saving mode etc, makes the library a lot faster to use even on faster hardware.
