It took the lolly scramble of an election campaign to finally get the Labour Gvt on board with “free dental” - but with a caveat: only for under 30s (at this stage).It’s obviously a good and long overdue start; BUT to restrict it to sub-30’s is nonsensical. Many more difficult dental complications often arise in older years, and many older NZers are also financially challenged.#freedental #nzpol

So MMP has produced a gvt led (in reality) by an 8-seat party, with an increasingly conspiratorial, belligerent and erratic near-octagenarian at the helm. I watched the Hosking interview with Luxon. When you've lost an ardent Tory lover like Hosking you've lost other Nats as well. What a pathetic excuse for a leader. Luxon doesn't lead the country, the gvt or his own Caucus. He stands for nothing and knows next to nothing. Now if Labour can get their act together this year and choose the only charismatic gutsy politician on the front bench as leader - McAnulty - there's a decent chance of bundling the conservatives out after one term. #NZPol

Why any private individual/s would undertake travel to the US at this time defies understanding. Aside from the ever-increasing risk of being detained (and imprisoned) for god knows what, there's gun violence, unaffordable healthcare (should you fall sick) and the omnipresence of MAGA. I went to grad school in the US and lived on the West Coast for 2 years - I've long had an affinity for the US - but not now.
