@CliffWade While still have a Twitter account I have deleted all my previous tweets, likes, comments, and profile info.. I only keep the account for alerts from a handful of follows, such as my local transit system or municipality, since there isn't a better source for in the moment updates for things like transit delays or emergency alerts. As soon as those accounts have a Mastodon presence or another means of getting alerts I'll drop Twitter entirely.

@grammargirl Interesting, for public speaking I was always drilled to remove the Ums & Uhs. In those scenarios I have learned to embrace the silent pause & use other cues to the let the listener know I am not done talking. I have carried this over to regular 1-on-1 conversations and rely on physical pause language rather than the vocalized pauses to let others know I have more to say. I never considered that an Um or an Uh could be useful just that it makes the speaker sound less intelligent

@grammargirl I'm the opposite ... For every tedious requirement in my business life I think, "This was easier before computers". I am surrounded by processes that were once simple manual tasks and are now laborious slogs through computer systems that don't talk to each other, require annoying work arounds, and dehumanize everything.
