@Radical_EgoCom @Aviva_Gary Not wanting to interrupt this philosophical discussion, but I see a logistical problem related to stockpiling items which expire or degrade into uselessness. Maybe stockpile useful and portable knowledge instead of antibiotics and similar. Hops are a bactericidal component of beer, so stockpile dried hops and cultivate a stockpile of knowledge. If necessary, you can also brew beer. Please don't mind me, I'm an amateur philosopher.

@stux @arutaz Better than noises, if you have a photographic light-meter then say the device detects ghosts. Move your finger to cover the light sensor when a "ghost" is nearby.

@stux My guess is that the news media is writing garbage so people will watch or read or listen to more news shows. It is not how things are done, false narrative. I will be voting, but not for the angry crazy person!

@stux There is insufficient information for me to give a reasonable answer. My unreasonable answer must be no, because of reasons. It is a poorly worded law to allow non-citizens to have firearms while prohibiting firearms to citizens. I was born into my citizenship, but not allowed to touch a firearm before I was old enough to stand and understand words. Latera I sought and obtained instruction on unarmed fighting, including ways to disarm an attacker. So far I've blocked and stopped two attacks while unarmed. I choose to be unarmed, but I want to be allowed to use any weapon which is aimed at me; therefore, I answer your poll, no.

@futurebird Another thing my parents pointed out to us kids was the different ways mountains formed, where we could see sedimentary formations in rock had ended up as diagonal stripes now visible after roadways had been cut through hillsides. I also saw inactive volcanoes and tried to understand how continents can move/change.

@futurebird @usluck That looks like the way bees settle down with their new queen following swarming activity. I don't see any hive in that picture, but I expect there is one very new queen in the center of all of that bunch of bees.

@futurebird @usluck These are different then from what we used to keep in our backyard. I remember reading about bees from other places and, yes that sounds like something one might find. What I watch for in an insect is the footwork. If I see it stomping its little feet then I give it room and distance and leave it to its business!

@futurebird My voting in this poll marked answer as none of these first three choices because I did not meet my wonderful partner in school or at work or online and I don't consider the brewing beer club meetings to be equivalent to a local scene or church. I noticed the person who often sat next to me was not rude and seemed intelligent. We married later that year, over thirty years ago.

@futurebird when grandpa died, grandma went out to his beehives and told the bees. The way I understand the practice is that bees become accustomed to one keeper and humans tell the bees about the disruption in service in hopes the bees will stay and keep working for the next beekeeper.

@futurebird @ben I remember that sound, and yes, the internal echo from inside those rubber pink kick-balls did combine with the external echo from the black-top covered playground of my elementary school. That playground was mostly level, stucco-covered walls on classroom buildings on its south edge, but edges sharply angled up to the chainlink fence around it because the north side was built into a rise near foothills. Maybe the angled bowl of asphalt mutated the echo of my memory.

@futurebird sorry, in my thoughtless moments the word I speak sounds more like: amble ants.
