We stopped at trader joes and when I got out someone was taking a picture of my plates and tried to lecture me about how I had almost killed her and I was trying to explain that no, the A/C is on, the windows are all cracked open, she is sad that I went out of bluetooth range and the music stopped.

People made me really insecure about "sit" and so, in practice, it took me about 2 hours to train it in lab conditions so she would play the sit game at home and about 3 days for the sit game to be a fun game to play over outside distractions.

Minerva went on her first hike on a real trail today and she had a lot of fun and she got worn out but it made me so happy because I love #hiking and I've been out of the habit for a couple of years and if I have a hiking buddy its going to make a huge difference. #dogsOfMastodon

Puppy energy is funny, because, realistically, puppies are small and they can only carry around so many calories. They burn them recklessly, and it is a handful, but they have no stamina. I've been watching her stamina grow and its so cute, but its still a matter of if I challenge her to a sprint she will win if I challenge her to a marathon I will actually have to go home early to let her take a nap.

Look, the problem with covid at this point isnt that you will get really sick. Some people do get really sick and have strong immediate symptoms but most people do not at this point, with these variants. The problem with covid is that it will give you long term health issues and make your fucking body tissue swell up in ways that impact your long term cardiovascular and neurological health and you can be all "lol I didnt have any symptoms" today but in a couple of years you have a fucking aneurysm. It isnt like the bubonic plague, its like fucking HIV. I am so fucking tired of this flippant goddamn attitude people have about it.

Like, my brain is full of tumors and it has caused me to have a serious mental health disorder through my life. And that mental health disorder has gotten worse over the last 3 years to where I stay up nights asking myself if #COVID19 caused swelling inside my skull that has exacerbated my issues.

I used to be satisfied with KN95s but, honestly, those work best with 2 way masking and years ago (jfc) I switched to a respirator mask and I felt at the time really bad for switching to a model that prioritized filtering air coming in instead of air going out but thank you random dude for reminding me that I am right.
