Hello fediverse! I’m new here. Please be nice. 🙂My name is Molly, I work in a library and knit a lot. I love coffee, enjoy experimental baking and usually don’t get enough sleep.I’m looking forward to finding some people to follow and getting a feel for this space.

@Gina consider trying a manual espresso machine. I have a Flair and apparently ROK are good too. They are quite different but make great coffee. You may also want a grinder and frother depending on how you take it.

@KoraunuiPakeha hello! Do you know of any good choirs in Wellington? 🙂

@KoraunuiPakeha haha, absolutely fair! I currently sing with a wonderful smallish all female acapella choir but am open to other kinds. I’m a particular fan of madrigals and complex multi part harmonies. I can sight sing decently and hold my own voice part. A choir that is flexible on attendance would be good as I have young kids. I’d love any recommendations.

Here’s the handspun I finished while isolating. I got a chance to give it a wash and whack to help set the twist. This is a chain (or Navajo) 4ply which is an unusual construction. The main colour (dyed by Southern Cross Fibres) is chained during plying with the accessory ply being carried along. It’s a challenging technique suited to spinners who are comfortable with regular chain ply and who have a tensioned Kate. @fiberarts #handspinning #handspun #HandspunYarn #handmade

So apparently US cops and ‘experts’ are trying to keep genetic genealogy from being mentioned when it’s used to solve crimes. As someone with a degree in molecular biology and a keen interest in individual privacy, this does not sit well with me. 😕https://slate.com/technology/2023/01/bryan-kohberger-university-idaho-murders-forensic-genealogy.html#GeneticGenealogy #FamilyHistory #Privacy #murica #MolecularBiology #genetics
