@ErikUden Pluralities don't pass the budget and pluralities don't help you survive votes of no confidence. Macron had a plurality of 250, not their 190ish (because it's... complicated among the factions) and had to call snap elections because LR and LIOT announced they would not vote the budget then bring down the government. In October, with two and a half months to go before the budget deadline. The lefts did not win the election, nobody did.

@Pentropy @ErikUden The people's will in French elections was: 72% of the people voted for anything but the left(s).Good to know we can add Erik to the 82 LFI votes for removing Macron from office... plus 9 randoms the old trot found to sign his list. @ErikUden leftiestats is a beautiful thing to call your own stats when the real ones are so very cruel. Here are some realitystats: the majority in the French National Assembly is 289. The guy appointed to lead the government is part of a coalition that falls short of that absolute majority by fewer seats than la melenchonie refusing ANY coalition does. Are you American living in Germany by any chance or are you just pretending to not understand how European coalition governments work?

@schmaker " #democracy beacon" Granted, there are parts of Europe where their propaganda worked better than in others for understandable reasons, but even so that's a uniquely delulu European view of the US to take. They were never a democracy beacon, they were just the biggest, most powerful democracy that kept you in happy vassalage as long as you served their interest. Not a bad deal if you were in Europe and paid the pizzo. But democracy beacon? lol.

@schmaker Not all of Europe is a vassal to the same degree, but no need for copium. Obama told 🇩🇰 to spy on its 🇪🇺 allies and 🇩🇰 duly complied. It's just that Obama stuck to the bare minimum of segniorial obligations.Let's not make this about this one president, the relationship has been one of vassalage for 80 years. Even spending more on defence came with a "but not on YOUR industry" disclaimer and a phone call to Warsaw, Berlin or Copenhagen to block funny 🇪🇺 autonomy ideas was usually enough.

@wolf480pl @jmaris Has Polish society considered maybe hating women less? It seems it recently had a chance to give them back their rights and make them slightly less scared of dying of preventable causes on a hospital bed because their Catholic doctors refuse to save their lives over that of a fetus, and by a slim margin, the country decided it still hates women. So import migrant workers instead.
