@stux A lot of our pensions is in real estate, and a lot of politicians have second homes. So it's all stuck because a lot of people lose money when it gets unstuck by building more houses.

@gfxstrand After vibe coding for a couple of weeks I'm pretty sure coding will be a thing of the past in a short time period. A lot of AI people are saying this, and I'm sure it's not just marketing BS. If you try to stop it some AI company will probably just copy your code and let AI go wild on it. Eventually that program will outperform your branch and end users won't care and just use that version and you'll start losing donations. We can call it a hostile takeover....

@gfxstrand I think there are only 2 options to stop it. First get an Opensource LLM and tell devs to use that so at least the LLM will be available on the long run and knowledge isn't locked in some big tech server.Or if this isn't an option just give up on code just develop with LLM accept you are no longer in control. This at least stops any take over from AI companies.The code will still be Opensource but you'll need LLM to read it.
