@holymolyrocky She refused to pony up $$$ (her "dues") to the DNC, saying instead that she was funding "progressive candidates" for office. Well, they all failed.Wonder if we'll see the DNC remove all support for her in her next primary, and instead support a different candidate and actively campaign against her? You can only bite the "hand that feeds" for so long. ROFL

What happened in the EU with the "refugees" was NOT a refugee movement. It was NOT an immigration event. It was a "footstep invasion".They allowed tons of single, military-aged muslim men into their countries, KNOWING full-well that they would never assimilate to European culture. Since then violent crime has spiked, rapes and assaults are through the roof, and places like Paris have large "no-go" zones. Now more want to enter. The EU is reaping what they sowed.https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2020/03/07/pictures-greek-border-flames-migrants-keep-trying-break-through/

@scottfree I just don't get it. If the Dems want to make sure Bernie doesn't get the nomination, and they do seem intent on stopping it from happening, there's a MUCH easier way.Just change the DNC rules for acceptable candidates to require them to be "Registered Democrats for a period of at least 2 consecutive years prior to the election that wish to be a candidate in." You can tweak the language as needed, but the bottom line is it would stop "Mr. Independent" from running as a Dem.

@captwfcall Yes it is. Those orders are job KILLERS. Businesses will go bankrupt, and people who often live paycheck to paycheck will be broke. Now, think Illinois will give property tax breaks to people that can't work? Hell no! In fact, this November they are asking us (in the form of a ballot referendum) to change our state constitution to change Illinois from a flat income tax to a "progressive" tax, that the State government can change whenever they want. SMH

       1) I was reading an article on Slashdot (https://tinyurl.com/u3lmzq6) and it got me thinking. I'm in the "Democratik People's Republik of Hellinois", and we're on full lock-down right now. People are told to stay home, not go to work if you're not critical, etc.

       2) The company I work for is considered "critical infrastructure", and fortunately I'm a work-from-home employee anyway, so I'll keep getting a paycheck. Many, if not most, of our employees however are off-work now as the majority of the office is closed. But what about so many others? What about the economy that's about to get totally wrecked? I digress.

       3) The point is if this goes on for awhile, and in this deep-blue state it may go until the election, we'll see some dramatic systematic changes. We'll see kids home from school long-term, having to utilize online learning tools. We'll see more and more people working from home, in jobs that traditionally "required" you to be in an office, whether you REALLY needed to be there or not.

       4) I think many companies will see the serious cost-savings that can happen by having most employees working from home, calculated as a lower per-employee burden-rate. I think we'll see more and more parents understanding the benefits and opportunities of home-schooling.

       5) "Home-schoolers" have always been a fringe group as far as the government is concerned. Safely ignoreable. However, after long-term "school from home" situations like this, will more and more parents want to continue it? Will districts realize the MASSIVE cost-savings there are to dramatically expanding home-school opportunities? Here in Hellinois, the major driver of our $200+ BILLION debt is state-worker pensions.

       6) We have no choice (per the Hellinois Supreme Court) but to pay the current pension obligations, but we CAN reform the system for teachers, state workers, etc that aren't on pensions yet. If we pushed 25% of kids state-wide to home-schooling, how much could we save in reduced headcount, pension payments, benefits, administration, facilities costs, busing, etc. What if 50% of kids home schooled? The opportunities for savings are REAL, and I believe dramatic.

@Debradelai I can't disagree with you more. One of my three kids needed way more help than the craptastic schools Public schools here could offer,m so we home schooled her. She turned out quite well.During the process we met many other parents that were home schooling their kids, and explosive numbers of mentally deranged kids was most certainly not the feeling we ever got.Do you actually have any experience or numbers to back up that comment? Or is it just opinion masquerading as "fact"?

@Debradelai Wow. I respond in a reason fashion, and ask if you have facts to back up your comment. You respond by calling me names and making guesses to my education & experience level, and attacks on me personally. Yet you claim that I'm the one making "ad him in em" [sic] attacks. Pretty sure you meant "ad hominem", even though that usage would still be incorrect.Welcome to the block list buddy. Life's too short to deal with Internet trolls.
