I’ve seen several references today to this being the 50th anniversary of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Every year I listen to this video of Gordon Lightfoot’s song. I don’t really know his music, but this song is a haunting reminder that the great lakes are giant inland seas and nature is untamable. https://youtu.be/9vST6hVRj2A #michigan #nature

Tomorrow is my 3-year fediversery after going cold-turkey on other social media. This place is different, more real. I see photos scroll by and I can often guess who the poster is based on their artistic point-of-view. The conversations seem more genuine. As time goes on, the benefits of federated vs centralized authority becomes more apparent and it makes me wonder where else in society it can be applied.
