Hi! I'm Michael, pronouns he/him, and I have worked in radio for most of my career. As an #introduction, I'll first admit I'm part of the #TwitterMigration (though I still have a login there). The non-radio phase of my career was in software development, in the late 90s/early 2000s. Ever since then I've written code on the side. Mostly Ruby/Rails, in support of broadcasting. That's what brought me to ruby.social Is anyone interested in a Mastodon server for classical music? Too specialized?

@james I found it here: https://joinmastodon.org/servers I looked in the "music" topic first, but there were only three genres, none of which appealed to me.

@james I would not have found ruby.social without that listing, but I can see how it would make administration difficult.

@james When I read it this morning, I seriously thought about porting my application to something else.

@james Same here. I set up "review apps" a few months ago, but then never used them! Also found an old free database, which I was afraid to delete. Since the app was associated with another DB (which is not free), I decided just to cross my fingers!

@james @postmodern typo alert: the variable 'chars_to_flip' became 'characters_to_flip' ... but it works fine. Output from a few sample runs, since I have 500 characters here:ThE qUick BrOwN foX JumPs OveR tHe LAZy doGTHE QUICK BROWN FOx JUMPS OVER THE LAZY DOGTHE quick browN fox Jumps OVeR THE lazY dogthe quick BROwn foX jumps over tHe laZy dog

"News about Biden, Trump, COVID, or inflation is easy and ubiquitous... But finding out whatβs happening in your community, school district, or local downtown area is nearly impossible. It is a premium news product, and yet few media outlets embrace it. And then along comes this student radio station running circles around their much larger and better-funded colleagues. It is truly inspiring." [Paul Jacobs]https://jacobsmedia.com/getting-schooled-by-a-bunch-of-high-school-students/ #Journalism #Radio @jeffjarvis

@clive This is wonderful. The indented list at the end is a great flourish, like the coda on a Romantic-era symphony!
