@capnjoe @GodlessNZ Here's a fact you may not have known: by far MOST Ts are conservative, successful people who just want to be left alone. But, there is a group of extreme radicals, almost all of whom are "transitioning" alleged transsexuals...Why radical? Well, in a lot of cases they are plain fug ugly and will never make it as the opposite sex. NEVER. So they're angry. Self-inflicted victims who have never been successful and never will be.

Some years ago, I became curious about WHY and HOW pretty decent neighborhoods could become dangerous, fearful places almost overnight. So I did some digging and talking to people on the ground. The answer became clear and scary...one that explains a lot of history and social interactions. It only takes THREE people to control and entire neighborhood: A lookout, and two bullies who have no compunction about violence.

This weekend I think I heard the clearest reason why otherwise very smart young women don't like Trump. It's his personality. Plain and simple. He rubs them the wrong way. Can he change that opinion? Doubt it. On the other hand, These very liberal young women I spoke too look at the Democrat field and find it very very wanting. These ladies will either sit it all out or go for someone like Schultz. No wonder the Dems are afraid he'll run independent.

An extremely liberal current in-law made it very plain to me that he thinks the entire theory of "climate change" is without sound basis. I won't go into all the details but he knew enough about the "Green New Deal" to dismiss it out of hand...but there were more revelations from others that gave me the clear sense that the Democrats are sending themselves to oblivion.

How else to explain how a major political party, with many, many senior people, could allow a tiny group of loudmouths to voice ridiculously extreme views...and actually let them determine policies that are anathema to most people? Fear. Fear of being even slightly associated with Trump's ideas. Fear of being called names. Better to play it safe...like the people in destroyed neighborhoods. It will be their end.

Think about this: how many people does it take at your job to cow everyone into nodding silence? Not many I'll bet. A few virtue signalling bullies are all that's needed and you don't want to be called a racist or misogynist, now do you? The same exact dynamics are at work right now in our major political parties, particularly among, but by no means, exclusively the Democrats.

Here's the thing: I NEVER raise politics at family or social affairs. I just listen and ask questions. No one wants to hear some know-it-all blather on about their political views at such events...And what I was hearing isn't the first time it has become more evident that things are shifting...away from leftism. I'm not an optimist by nature, and the hard core lefties at the event are never going to like Trump. So be it. But I think their day is past.

Why anecdotes are not data, I've seen this rejection first hand at the community college I've been attending for pleasure the last three years. Granted CC students have typically been more practical than those attending four year schools. None the less, it is striking how empty the "liberal arts" area of this campus has become a ghost town. At the national level, data on the majors chosen from 1970 thru 2015 clearly shows a pattern

Humanities are clearly on the decline. Back in the 70s, having a college degree, ANY degree, gave you an advantage in the job market. because the competition from other graduates was fairly low. Not so now. The labor market is over-saturated with degree holders. The kids know this, so if they're going to take on massive debt, there better be a payoff. So good bye French Literature. The market ALWAYS decides.

1/The first time I heard a "journalist" say it was his job to "afflict the comfortable and comfort the afflicted" I knew things were getting upside-down in my profession. Consider whose job it is to actually "comfort the afflicted"...The clergy. And whose job is it to "afflict the comfortable"? Law enforcement. Neither is what a journalist should be...a few anecdotes follow:

1/Several things to understand about the ineffectiveness of the Census to determine immigration status: Since the 2010 Census households simply, which contains about 10 basic questions. This form, used since 1970, never has contained a citizenship question. That kind of detail, and a lot of other info was on the LONG form that only a small percentage of households get, I believe about 12%Citizenship was asked on this form since the 1970 Census.

The Leftists who clearly do not want any changes to West Baltimore remind me of how these same types stopped and then destroyed a minor beautification project to a street in San Francisco's Tenderloin. A group of neighbors decided that stretch of sidewalk with dead planting boxes would look nicer with some trees...that they would pay for.

They planted the trees and when the "advocates" of the shitbums saw this, they went to the city and said, in effect, "this will drive the poor out!" Sooo the city had all the plantings removed and the street returned to it's terrible appearance. This was all in the name of defending the poor of course.

What truly fascinates me is that the whole country is now seeing exactly what my family and I saw in San Francisco in the 90s and 00s. Which continues. Relatively sane Democrat politicians absolutely folded when insane Leftists screamed at them. And be certain of this: Leftists NEVER, EVER stop screaming, they are NEVER satisfied and they have an unlimited list of grievances...all for the good, of course for they are the "friends of mankind".

@bonmarche946 How about our "lawmaker" Dems living it up in Venice. TRY to rent a hotel room or dining out. Bring gold bars. And it's even worse in the summer. Corruption once again. Using OUR money to pig out at the trough.
