@Wolven What a quandary when there’s only a 5-day window beginning at symptom onset where anti-virals or Paxlovid are effective. It can be super challenging to get these treatments as well. Do you think you took a better swab sample than the tech I assume sampled you for the PCR?

Sowbread, Cyclamen hederifolium, is native from southern France to western Turkey, Mediterranean islands, farther north in Europe and in the Pacific Northwest.In the wild flowers appear well before the foliage (seen here). This is the same lovely cluster of wild cyclamens as in the previous photograph, but taken 23 days later. It’s curious that its ivy-shaped leaves still have not developed! This is the 4th in a series of one lovely cluster of wild cyclamens. The ivy-like leaves are now fully developed like the flower potted versions we see in nurseries. Just got off a video call with a healthcare provider at #Swedish #CherryHill in #Seattle. He told me Swedish system just brought back required masking for everyone, staff and patients, this week. He said “It’s not because of COVID. It’s because of flu, RSV and pneumonia.” He really needed me to know that! So the denial about COVID is still in place along with masks, masks that, fyi, are not for COVID! 🤨#Masks #Healthcare #Denial #COVID

@grammargirl My elder kid teaches at a major university and we just spoke about this, today. They have their students read out loud in class to assess where they are, in an empathetic and supportive environment, then meets them where they are. Reading aloud is part of this senior level university class…now. I’m fairly certain it’s worse than we think given where they teach and the opportunities those students have already had to learn.

@maco @grammargirl And I feel confident in that functionality. I was hammering nails into hardwood with real force the other day and my watch thought I had fallen and asked me if I had. I chose “no” of course and am extremely impressed.

@grammargirl @maco I only take mine off to charge it. That and I wear leggings with a holster pocket for my phone at all waking times so that if I have an accident I can contact whoever or at least have my phone on me if I’m not conscious and the watch calls 911. My current medical info is accessible on my iPhone. This is how I more safely maintain my independent living! (Get the watch if you can, it’s amazing and fun!)
