I talk to other former evangelicals, some Christian, some not, and we are all horrified at what our Boomer parents have become. They were always cultists, but this is something far more sinister: they do not care what happens to their own kids; they do not care who dies. They are callous, heartless, brutal. By framing the impeachments of Donald Trump, for disloyalty to the country and its constitution, as political and partisan, Republicans are effectively lawless now. If they are given power in 2024, were that man to become president again, even though he is an obvious abuser who has already got Americans killed, #ProLife #Evangelicals are saying by their vote they do not care if Americans are murdered or persecuted; they are united with #Trump in taking vengeance on moral Americans loyal to law.

If you look at the evangelicals prepared to vote for him, they are the same who smear abuse victims to protect the name of the church. These are not moral people; these are enablers of abuse, and they do not care that retribution for Trump absolutely will cost lives. His first presidency destroyed and cost many lives, and they didnāt care then. This is how dangerous this brand of Christianity is to free people in our country now. I am so disgusted and disappointed at a lot of people on mastodon. Shaming people for refusing to dismiss Hamas brutality or demanding I condemn Israel, as if there is no complexity or nuance? Where is the ability to think critically? Where is the freedom of mind to see that ISIS-level brutality is never justified? Why must saying so be taken as an indicator Iām fine with civilian deaths?
