Make no mistake, running the UK right now is a vile regime quite unlike anything before - but be aware that no alternative whatsoever is presented from their parliamentary opposition, a supposed government-in-waiting, led by a sickening snake of the lowest form who received a fucking knighthood for his work as head of Crown Prosecution Service and director of Public Prosecutions while individuals like Ian Tomlinson and Jean Charles de Menezes were killed for no reason by police, and without consequence.

The capitalist establishment in Britain has the state locked down, as indeed it always has - every rotten institution protecting the status quo as the rich get richer, the poor get poorer, and the planet gets destroyed. Which is why we must delegitimise these absolute ghouls with as much noncompliance as possible, turning to mutual aid, renters unions, workplace organising, ethical hacktivism, and local autonomous media, with class solidarity, intersectional anticapitalism, and the spirit of resistance.

@thegardendude Similar here in the UK, where the government has essentially incorporated anti-vax rhetoric into policy. I've had no vaccination for over a year now (therefore likely waned) and they have no plans to release them again in the future either privately or via the NHS unless it's for a select few they deem vulnerable enough.

Having critical, diplomatic debates about improving our spaces and culture online are what we ought to welcome, because it means we're focused on building and enhancing alternatives to digital capitalism. We can't even *have* those discussions on those other sites -- because they are simply incompatible with such ideals.

@wjmaggos I'm literally working on a piece for We Distribute that cites "the medium is the message" in reference to social media, because I think you're right, the online spaces have to reflect how we want society to be, and we can put our energies into that rather than helping to legitimise those supposed "town squares" that are, in fact, corporate conference suites driven by algorithms and ads.
