@corfiot @RustyCrab @Zerglingman Most likely due to the views that you are talking about are viewed as outside their comfortable position. The extremes that are allowed over there have enough power in their lives to make them uncomfortable as well but not be shut up.

@RustyCrab @Zerglingman @corfiot What are you concerned about in particular? That they become part of that group?

@zleap @mpjgregoire That assumes of course that the government allows itself to be taken to trial. My go to example would be China with the South China Sea. US warcrimes would be a more American example of the refusal of allowing foreign powers to rule on US government actions and their employees actions. Perhaps you could find the answer in how the US justifies the constitutionality of extradition treaties?

@RustyCrab @Zerglingman @corfiot Depends if you think exposure (amongst other things) will lead to that. Perhaps the power dynamic and the fact that more viewpoints of the wider userbase are that way will pull people that way. Echo chambers and their influence on a centrist person is a hotly debated political topic at the moment.

@zleap @mpjgregoire "The Extradition Act 1988 sets out a number of requirements that must be met before Australia can make or accept an extradition request. Those requirements may be supplemented by requirements contained in a multilateral or bilateral treat"I used a quick example I know about. In its example it uses the United States of America. The recent extradition of a American spy to the UK would be my other example. The US like all countries can refuse. However it can and will send it citizens to face trial.(Source)https://www.ag.gov.au/international-relations/international-crime-cooperation-arrangements/extradition#:~:text=International%20extradition,-Australia%20has%20extradition&text=For%20example%2C%20extradition%20is%20used,the%20person%20in%20the%20USA.

@RustyCrab @Zerglingman @corfiot Part of the problem with the growing amount of peoples lives being online. It means that with less effort they can become immersed in a community that shares the same beliefs.I think most of the problems that you find in the echo chamber political online spaces have other causes along with them. I am even unsure if the political echo chambers are what causes the worse elements.

@Dan_Ramos Bit of a misleading title for your post and a meh article. Its not the race to make EV's that is the main problem. Its the sudden increase and surge of demand that the EV makers are trying to cope with. The consumer demand is what is driving up the prices especially with how quickly it has grown.

@RustyCrab @Zerglingman @corfiot That is your reading of it. I think that its a group of people who feel that their lives have been heavily impacted by others. They have set themselves the task of trying to stop others from impacting them or those they care about, instead of building up walls of self development. If this due to them feeling that they can win or fear about if everyone can build up the internal strength is hard to say.

@corfiot @RustyCrab @Zerglingman A interesting look at things. However it shows your own viewpoint. Those within Fediblock view your own views as dangerous or controversial. The subject itself is not the problem but the views. Although I am sure that some subjects are also off limits.

@RustyCrab @corfiot @Zerglingman You can always try and run a anti political community. It takes plenty of effort and works best amongst people with only a certain level of difference of views.Naturally what is classed as political will matter quite a lot along with what is prevented from being talked about.

@RustyCrab @Zerglingman @corfiot Sadly I think plenty of people across the political spectrum are destructive. Although that is sounding a awful lot like a train tracks argument. Depends what you believe and what you are trying to do ultimately. When I go to a community meetup for charity I want to keep the peace and raise some money for the good cause. Bringing up politics that will make someone freak out is not going to achieve much or what I am after.

@Ratcliffe Seems like a natural consequence of forcing people to not interact and then suddenly throwing open everything and encouraging people to move around. Be curious if the masks come back again.

@Ratcliffe Many of his positions recently seemed focused on trying to be on the right side of every argument and not thinking things through. He should know from his own experience the damage that a mob will do to any individual that is not already super powerful and rich. Guess he just likes the low effort posts he can make about political topics.

@Ratcliffe More people should look into the Finders cult. I find it concerning that we don't have any info on any that could have been occurring in the UK and its colonies. Even in the Finders story they mention Hong Kong and other locations.

Davos is kicking off and the standard protests are breaking out. Seems like the climate change crowd are unhappy with the amount of private flights. Going to be interesting what policy choices come out of the meeting. Once again climate change is the public goal of the meeting. However it is likely that the economic uncertainty and the war in Ukraine will be talked about. I think we should expect to see some big policy changes.

@stike Probably going to be the small carriers who refuse to take them. With most of those high end electrical goods it can go horribly wrong much easier. Probably a good thing if they don't have the ability to put out the fires or handle them.

@YorkshireTea I think that it is just the adjustment from the censorship before. Also with some of the information that is coming out more information is allowed to exist. It is likely that this was always happening.
