I feel like I need/want a snark buddy. 🤣As I am getting through this trans widow crap I sometimes have petty shit to say. I worry it may be too outing if posted (plus well it is petty stuff). With the one close friend I can talk to I just get an earful about tossing him *now*. It’s a work in progress.

Actually out somewhere and overhear some older guys talking about critical theory and queer theory and the place it too loud to hear what he’s saying. The area is not really woke and the guys are older so I’m interested. I heard title 9 and also something about ‘people don’t seem willing to fight this’.

@Chronic-Yonic I cannot fathom not understanding why some here cannot use their real names. Especially a woman not understanding that. Especially especially a woman running a site with feminist in the name. I get women can approach/define their feminism from different places (or not ascribe at all) but holy hell how do you feign being unaware of why a woman may have reason/desire to not disclose identifying information?!?! As a trans widow I feel I am losing my mind with the isolation. Being here has offered so much (including wider awareness of the overall trash women the world over are dealing with..like I knew but not near all of it) but I know there are people viewing keen to hurt women here. @senryu a crisis?! Every damn day this gets more ridiculous. One would think when this is so top of mind as a crisis that the world would be utterly devoid of any other issues. I feel I need therapy to deal with the bullshit at home. I cannot handle going to someone who is going to call my kid’s father “she”. This is all twisted with other narcissistic behaviors and I need to be able to speak plainly. Any advice/tips on how to find someone that is not super woke? My ability to cope goes up and down. I’ve always been the sort to just keep the peace and let people be shitty to me and it is really tempting here but dammit I don’t want to be that person.

@FemaleIsNotAFeeling @Dingo123 this is so damn stupid please tell me it is satire. Like what the hell? There are so many minute aspects of personality/interests/likes/dislikes/aptitudes that get plopped into gender stereotypes that going by that I’m just about every number depending on what perspective I should come from the answer the question. Like does one have to average it out? Over a day, a year, a decade? There is stuff I like and do that is coded feminine in my time and place and also things I can do that are coded masculine. Like it’s all over the place and I can only imagine it is the same for most people since I’m just a random average person. My ‘gender’ doesn’t change because of that or how I may change over time. If I have to fix a toilet I don’t go by he/him that day. If I sew another day if someone generically refers to me as ‘they’ I’m not going to freak out that they didn’t validate my doing something feminine. This is insane.

In what way is putting on a dress (they style of which is not appropriate to the occasion but eh whatever on that…I swear I need a snark buddy) grounds to change pronoun/sex marker?! Women don’t lose their pronoun when they don’t wear a dress so why does a man putting one on give him she/her? In this time period dresses are coded feminine in many cultures…ok so what. Wear the dress dude but stop at wearing ‘woman’ as a costume and appropriating womanhood.

@terf_fret @ArtistBristol what an asshole. Specifically pointing out walks alone in the evening/night. Something women mention time again as one of the basic thing we have to really think if we can do it safely and if we think we can we still mentally prepare what could happen and how to react. @meogsis @Mary_Collier I would have thought that if men who wear women’s underwear wanted it to actually fit their body they would have designed and marketed that a long time ago. Or else make the Speedo type design with “feminine” fabrics. Do they not typically tuck and sometimes wear two pair for tightness with the feeling being part of the thing? Or is this more about underwear existing for male and female bodies (in multiple styles on both sides) and the male having a disadvantage when wanting to fit his penis into the female styles therefore everyone needs to pay for this outrage?
